IEA: 630 GW of Solar Panels Installed Annually Worldwide!

News 3730

The IEA “Global Energy Sector’s Net Zero Emissions Roadmap to 2050” report shows that the energy sector accounts for about three-quarters of today’s greenhouse gas emissions and is the key to avoiding the worst effects of climate change, which may be the face of mankind in history. The biggest challenge. The reduction of global carbon dioxide to net zero emissions by 2050 is consistent with efforts to control the long-term increase in global average temperature not exceeding 1.5 ̊C, which requires a complete transformation of energy production, transportation, and consumption methods.

Net zero emissions in 2050 depend on unprecedented efforts to promote clean technology by 2030. According to the report, the global path to achieve net zero emissions is actually very narrow: if you want to stay within this path, you need to immediately deploy all available clean and efficient energy technologies in large numbers.

All the least efficient coal-fired power plants will be phased out before 2030, and the remaining coal-fired power plants still in use will be retrofitted before 2040. By 2050, nearly 90% of power generation will come from renewable energy sources. Wind power and solar photovoltaic power generation together account for nearly 70%, and most of the rest will come from nuclear power.
